California Proposition 215 Legalizing Medical Marijuana...

Also known as California Proposition 215, the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 made headlines around the country as the first law ever to change the legality of medical marijuana for public consumption statewide. Originating in San Francisco, it was passed by 55.6% of California voters on November 5, 1996 (Human Rights and the Drug War). The ideology behind passing Prop. 215 is that marijuana contains a number of legitimate medical uses and should be made available to those who would benefit from it. The text of the proposed law states that â€Å"seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where that medical use is deemed appropriate† (NORML, 2009). All patients possessing a reasonable amount of†¦show more content†¦In modern society marijuana has always been considered a sort of taboo subject in the United States due mainly to the fact that it is illegal. Many people don’t realize however that considering the history of our country, marijuana has only been illegal for a relatively short time span. Several of our founding fathers, including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, grew marijuana for hemp (the material derived from the plant) regularly and there is even speculation Washington smoked the plant occasionally. Back in those days marijuana did not have the sinister reputation it has today but instead was a vital part of colonial life, with the hemp material having a number of uses including rope, clothing, and paper (West, 1998). It wasn’t until the early 20th century that the public opinion regarding marijuana began to shift and restrictive laws were put in place that would eventually lead to illegalization. While there were many different causes at work, one of the greatest factors that led to this shift in opinion was the media. William Randolph Hearst, owner of the largest and most influential newspaper company at the time, published many exaggerated stories about the dangers of marijuana. Many of them depicted marijuana a deadly and violence-inducing drug while making outrageous claims such as â€Å"hashish goads users to bloodlust† and â€Å"three-fourths of the violent crimes in this country todayShow MoreRelatedThe Failure of Californias Proposition 19694 Words   |  3 PagesCannabis, also known as Marijuana, has been used by humans throughout history for medical, recreational, as well as spiritual purposes. string(213) " and pouring out her grief and fear to her diary – and then the peace and comfort that Damon had offered had actually made her forget Stefan – to forget what he might be suffering at this very moment\." Time stopped. Elena found that she was instinctively groping for the mind of the one who was kissing her so sweetly. She had never really appreciated a kiss until she had died, become a spirit, and then been returned to earth with an aura that revealed the hidden meaning of other people’s thoughts, words, and even their minds and souls. We will write a custom essay sample on The Return: Shadow Souls Chapter 3 or any similar topic only for you Order Now It was as if she had gained a beautiful new sense. When two auras mingled as deeply as this, two souls were laid bare to each other. Semi-consciously, Elena let her aura expand, and met a mind almost at once. To her surprise, it recoiled from her. That wasn’t right. She managed to snag it before it could retreat behind a great hard stone, like a boulder. The only things left outside the boulder – which reminded her of a picture of a meteorite she had seen, with a pocked, charred surface – were rudimentary brain functions, and a little boy, chained to the rock by both wrists and both ankles. Elena was shocked. Whatever she was seeing, she knew it was a metaphor only, and that she should not judge too quickly what the metaphor meant. The images before her were really the symbols of Damon’s naked soul, but in a form that her own mind could understand and interpret, if only she looked at it from the right perspective. Instinctively, though, she knew that she was seeing something important. She had come through the breathless delight and dizzying sweetness of joining her soul to another’s. And now, her inherent love and concern drove her to try to communicate. â€Å"Are you cold?† she asked the child, whose chains were long enough to allow him to wrap his arms tightly about his drawn-up legs. He was clothed in ragged black. He nodded silently. His huge dark eyes seemed to swallow up his face. â€Å"Where do you belong?† Elena said doubtfully, thinking of ways to get the child warm. â€Å"Not inside that?† She made a gesture toward the giant stone boulder. The child nodded again. â€Å"It’s warmer in there, but he won’t let me inside anymore.† â€Å"He?† Elena was always on the lookout for signs of Shinichi, that malicious fox spirit. â€Å"Which ‘he,’ darling?† She had already knelt and taken the child in her arms, and he was cold, ice cold, and the iron was freezing. â€Å"Damon,† the little ragamuffin boy whispered. For the first time the boy’s eyes left her face, to glance fearfully around him. â€Å"Damon did this?† Elena’s voice started loud and ended up as soft as the boy’s whisper, as he turned pleading eyes on her and desperately patted at her lips, like a velvet-clawed kitten. This is all just symbols, Elena reminded herself. It’s Damon’s mind – his soul – that you’re looking at. But are you? an analytical part of her asked suddenly. Wasn’t there – a time before, when you did this with someone – and you saw a world inside them, entire landscapes full of love and moonlit beauty, all of it symbolizing the normal, healthy workings of an ordinary, extraordinary mind. Elena couldn’t remember the name of the person now, but she remembered the beauty. She knew that her own mind would use such symbols to present itself to another person. No, she realized abruptly and definitively: she was not seeing Damon’s soul. Damon’s soul was somewhere inside that huge, heavy ball of rock. He lived cramped inside that hideous thing, and he wanted it that way. All that was left outside was some ancient memory from his childhood, a boy who had been banished from the rest of his soul. â€Å"If Damon put you here, then who are you?† Elena asked slowly, testing her theory, while taking in the black-on-black eyes of the child, and the dark hair and the features she knew even if they were so young. â€Å"I’m – Damon,† the little boy whispered, white around the lips. Maybe even revealing that much was painful, Elena thought. She didn’t want to hurt this symbol of Damon’s childhood. She wanted him to feel the sweetness and comfort that she was feeling. If Damon’s mind had been like a house, she would have wanted to tidy it up, and fill every room with flowers and starlight. If it had been a landscape she would have put a halo around the full white moon, or rainbows amongst the clouds. But instead it presented itself as a starving child chained to a ball that no one could breach, and she wanted to comfort and soothe the child. She cradled the little boy, rubbing his arms and legs hard and nestling him against her spirit body. At first he felt tense and wary in her arms. But after a little time, when nothing terrible happened as a result of their contact, he relaxed and she felt his small body go warm and drowsy and heavy in her arms. She herself felt a crushingly sweet protectiveness about the little creature. In just a few minutes, the child in her arms was asleep, and Elena thought that there was the faintest ghost of a smile on his lips. She cuddled his little body, rocking him gently, smiling herself. She was thinking of someone who had held her when she’d cried. Someone who was – was not forgotten, never forgotten – but who made her throat ache with sadness. Someone so important – it was desperately important that she remember him now, now – and that she†¦she had to†¦to find†¦ And then suddenly the peaceful night of Damon’s mind was split open – by sound, by light, and by energies that even Elena, young as she was in the ways of Power, knew had been kindled by the memory of a single name. Stefan. Oh, God, she had forgotten him – she had actually, for a few minutes allowed herself to be drawn into something that meant forgetting him. The anguish of all those lonely late-night hours, sitting and pouring out her grief and fear to her diary – and then the peace and comfort that Damon had offered had actually made her forget Stefan – to forget what he might be suffering at this very moment. You read "The Return: Shadow Souls Chapter 3" in category "Essay examples" â€Å"No – no!† Elena was struggling alone in darkness. â€Å"Let go – I have to find – I can’t believe that I forgot – â€Å" â€Å"Elena.† Damon’s voice was calm and gentle – or at least unemotional. â€Å"If you keep jerking around like that you’re going to get free – and it’s a long way to the ground.† Elena opened her eyes, all her memories of rocks and little children flying away, scattering like white dandelion silk in every direction. She looked at Damon accusingly. â€Å"You – you – â€Å" â€Å"Yes,† Damon said composedly. â€Å"Blame it on me. Why not? But I did not Influence you, and I did not bite you. I merely kissed you. Your Powers did the rest; they may be uncontrollable, but they’re extremely compelling all the same. Frankly, I never intended to get sucked in so deeply – if you’ll forgive a pun.† His voice was light, but Elena had a sudden inner vision of a weeping child, and she wondered if he were really as indifferent as he seemed. But that’s his speciality, isn’t it? she thought, suddenly bitter. He gives out dreams, fancies, pleasure that stays in the minds of his†¦donors. Elena knew that the girls and young women that Damon†¦preyed on†¦adored him, their only complaint being that he didn’t visit them often enough. â€Å"I understand,† Elena said to him as they drifted closer to the ground. â€Å"But this can’t happen again. There’s only one person that I can kiss, and that’s Stefan.† Damon opened his mouth, but just then there was the sound of a voice that was as furious and accusing as Elena had been, and which didn’t care about the consequences. Elena remembered the other person she’d forgotten. â€Å"DAMON, YOU BASTARD, BRING HER DOWN!† Matt. Elena and Damon came to a twirling, elegant stop, right beside the Jaguar. Matt immediately ran to Elena and snatched her away, examining her as if she had been in an accident, with particular attention to her neck. Once again Elena was uncomfortably aware of being dressed in a lacy white nightgown in the presence of two boys. â€Å"I’m fine, honestly,† she said to Matt. â€Å"I’m just a little bit dizzy. I’ll be better in a few minutes.† Matt let out a breath of relief. He might not still be in love with her as he once had been, but Elena knew he cared deeply about her and always would. He cared about her as his friend Stefan’s girlfriend, and also on her own merits. She knew he would never forget the time they had been together. More, he believed in her. So right now, when she promised that she was all right, he believed that. He was even willing to give Damon a look that wasn’t completely hostile. And then both of the boys headed for the driver’s side door of the Jag. â€Å"Oh, no,† Matt said. â€Å"You drove yesterday – and look what happened! You said it yourself – there are vampires trailing us!† â€Å"You’re saying it’s my fault? Vampires are tracing this fire-engine-red-paint-job giant and it’s somehow my doing?† Matt simply looked stubborn: his jaw clenched, his tanned skin flushed. â€Å"I’m saying we should take turns. You’ve had your turn.† â€Å"I don’t recall anything ever being said about ‘taking turns.'† Damon managed to give the word an inflection that made it sound like some rather wicked activity. â€Å"And if I go in a car, I drive the car.† Elena cleared her throat. Neither of them even noticed her. â€Å"I’m not getting into a car if you’re driving!† Matt said furiously. â€Å"I’m not getting into a car if you’re driving!† Damon said laconically. Elena cleared her throat more loudly, and Matt finally remembered her existence. â€Å"Well, Elena can’t be expected to drive us all the way to wherever we’re going,† he said, before she could even suggest the possibility. â€Å"Unless we’re going to get there today,† he added, looking at Damon sharply. Damon shook his dark head. â€Å"No. I’m taking the scenic route. And the fewer people who know where we’re going the safer we’re going to be. You can’t tell if you don’t know.† Elena felt as if someone had just lightly touched the hairs on the back of her neck with an ice cube. The way Damon said those words†¦ â€Å"But they’ll already know where we’re going, won’t they?† she asked, shaking herself back to practicality. â€Å"They know we want to rescue Stefan, and they know where Stefan is.† â€Å"Oh, yes. They’ll know we’re trying to get into the Dark Dimension. But by what gate? And when? If we can lose them the only thing we need to worry about is Stefan and the prison guards.† Matt looked around. â€Å"How many gates are there?† â€Å"Thousands. Wherever three ley lines cross, there’s the potential for a gate. But since the Europeans drove the Native Americans out of their homes, most of the gates aren’t used or maintained as they were in the old days.† Damon shrugged. But Elena was tingling all over with excitement, with anxiety. â€Å"Why don’t we just find the nearest gate and go through it, then?† â€Å"Travel all the way to the prison underground? Look, you don’t understand at all. First of all, you need me with you to get you into a gate – and even then it isn’t going to be pleasant.† â€Å"Not pleasant for who? Us or you?† Matt asked grimly. Damon gave him a long, blank look. â€Å"If you tried on your own it would be briefly and terminally unpleasant for you. With me, it should be uncomfortable but a matter of routine. And as for what it’s like traveling for even a few days down there – well, you’ll see for yourselves, eventually,† Damon said, with an odd smile. â€Å"And it would take much, much longer than going by a main gate.† â€Å"Why?† Matt demanded – always ready to ask questions that Elena really, really didn’t want to know the answers to. â€Å"Because it’s either jungle, where five-foot leeches dropping from the trees are going to be the least of your worries, or wasteland, where any enemy can spot you – and everyone is your enemy.† There was a pause while Elena thought hard. Damon looked serious. Clearly, he really didn’t want to do it – and not many things bothered Damon. He liked fighting. More, if it would only waste time†¦ â€Å"All right,† Elena said slowly. â€Å"We’ll go on with your plan.† Immediately, both boys reached for the driver’s side door handle again. â€Å"Listen,† Elena said without looking at either of them. † I am going to drive my Jaguar down to the next town. But first I am going to get in it and get changed into real clothes and maybe even catch a few minutes of sleep. Matt will want to find a brook or something where he can clean up. And then I’m going to whatever town is closest for some brunch. After that – â€Å" † – the bickering can begin anew,† Damon finished for her. â€Å"You do that, darling. I’ll meet you at whatever greasy spoon you’ve selected.† Elena nodded. â€Å"You’re sure you’ll be able to find us? I am trying to hold my aura down, really.† â€Å"Listen, a fire-engine-red Jaguar in whatever flyspeck of a town you find down this road is going to be as conspicuous as a UFO,† Damon said. â€Å"Why doesn’t he just come with†¦Ã¢â‚¬ Matt’s voice trailed off. Somehow, although it was his deepest grievance against Damon, he often managed to forget that Damon was a vampire. â€Å"So you’re going to go down there first and find some young girl walking to summer school,† Matt said, his blue eyes seeming to darken. â€Å"And you’re going to swoop down on her and take her away where no one can hear her screaming and then you’re going to pull her head back and you’re going to sink your teeth into her throat.† There was a fairly long pause. Then Damon said in a slightly injured tone, â€Å"Am not.† â€Å"That’s what you – people – do. You did it to me.† Elena saw the need for really drastic intervention: the truth. â€Å"Matt, Matt, it wasn’t Damon who did that. It was Shinichi. You know that.† She gently took Matt by the forearms and turned him until he was facing her. For a long moment Matt wouldn’t look at her. Time stretched and Elena began to fear that he was beyond her reach. But then at last he lifted his head so that she could look into his eyes. â€Å"All right,† he said softly. â€Å"I’ll go along with it. But you know that he’s going off to drink human blood.† â€Å"From a willing donor!† Damon, who had very good hearing, shouted. Matt exploded again. â€Å"Because you make them willing! You hypnotize them – â€Å" â€Å"No, I don’t.† † – or ‘Influence’ them, or whatever. How would you like it – â€Å" Behind Matt’s back, Elena was now making furious go-away motions at Damon, as if she were shooing a flock of chickens. At first Damon just raised an eyebrow at her, but then he shrugged elegantly and obeyed, his form blurring as he took the shape of a crow and rapidly became a dot in the rising sun. â€Å"Do you think,† Elena said quietly, â€Å"that you could get rid of your stake? It’s just going to make Damon completely paranoid.† Matt looked everywhere but at her and then finally he nodded. â€Å"I’ll dump it when I go downhill to wash,† he said, looking at his muddy legs grimly. â€Å"Anyway,† he added, â€Å"you get in the car and try to get some sleep. You look like you need it.† â€Å"Wake me up in a couple hours,† Elena said – without the first idea that in a couple hours she was going to regret this more than she could say. Second is to provide a customized headphone to the customers. Feasibility Analysis Product feasibility analysis 1 Earphone is a smaller internal speaker that plugs inside the ears, headphone is a larger device that covers the ears over the head. 1 Earphone is a smaller internal speaker that plugs inside the ears, eadphone is a larger device that covers the ears over the head. Nowadays, more people like listening to music on street as it is easier to get music in today’s world. Since smartphone users are increasing significantly, there is a great business opportunity in the handfree earphone1/headphone market. The concept of mobile handfree seems isn’t very novel and it has already been quite popular in nowadays, so where is the business opportunity? In fact, most of the handfree in the market is designed for Iphone, only few brands are designed for android phones such as ‘Ultimate Ears UE vm series’. The awareness of the rise of android phone in the earphone/headphone market is only in the recent six months, more and more brand manufacture handfrees for android such as Sony, audio technical etc. However, the ratio of Iphone handfree is still much greater than the android handfree. Someone may ask that is there really a big difference between Iphone handfree and android handfree. The fact is due to the different os system, if you use the wrong handfree, you MAY still have a chance to talk through your handfree but the volume control function MUST be useless. The reason of that is because all Iphone are using the same os system, the hand free design can focus on the specific system, so the Iphone handfrees are button like design which controls the volume through the os system. However, the android phones have many different brands, each android phone is varied a little bit with others. Therefore, it is impossible to design a handfree that perfectly fits all android phone through system and the android hand free is a kind of wheel like volume control that changes the resistance of current. UE 200vi Iphone handfree, button like design UE 200vi Iphone handfree, button like design UE 200vm Android handfree, wheel like design UE 200vm Android handfree, wheel like design Iphone handfree and android handfree are sold separately for a long time. Our team think that is inefficient, wasting excess resources. Moreover, people changes smartphones very frequently in nowadays, they may use galaxy3 for two months and switch to Iphone5. The problem has been solved in the recent two months. Some brands such as noisezero and JVC started using a kind of ‘switching handfree’ which contains two circuits within the handfree, customers can switch to Iphone mode or android mode up to them. This kind of design is not quite popular yet and is only applied in the earphone market. As it can reduce waste of resources and satisfies customers’ habit, so our team would like to introduce this design into our products and be the first company to use switching handfree in headphones. Noisezero iXi Titanium switch handfree Noisezero iXi Titanium switch handfree Another feather would like to add on is customized design, customers can design their own artwork and printed on the headphones. This service is quite common in the high-end earphone market, some companies such as Ultimate Ears and JH audio. However it is totally new in the headphone markets. Headphone has a larger surface area than earphone; it will be more fun for customers to personalize their own headphone. As Beats is a fashionable brand, we believe that there will be some customers willing to pay more and have a personalized headphone; this can show from the success of customized earphone market. Industry and competitor analysis The earphone/headphone market can be divided into two main types of firms. One is targeting on sound quality and one is targeted on the outlook design. Beats belongs to the outlook design type firm. It doesn’t mean that the sound quality of Beats is bad but there usually have some brand with better sound quality in the similar price level. A part of the price is charged base on the design and brand but not because of the sound quality. The major competitors of beats are Skullcandy, Soul, Marley and Aerial. Skullcandy and Aerial are also classified as fashion outlook headphone brand and target on young users. Comparing with these two brands, beats has a better sound quality advantage. Soul and Marley are also using celebrity effect, using the artist Ludacris and Marley respectively. Comparing these two competitors, beats has a first mover advantage and has a greater network. Beats participate with the most famous artists such as Lady Gaga and Justin Biber, this is more appealing to young customers comparing with Soul and Marley. Therefore, Beats has a leadership position in the fashion headphone market. For the handfree market, it is a rising industry with a low entry barrier, especially for the headphones. The reason of the rise of handfree is link with the trend of increasing smartphone users and the users switch phones more frequently in nowadays. It’s hard to prevent competitors enter this market but what can we do is to differentiate the handfree by using the smartphone switch design and apply it into the headphone market as it is still not popular yet. Android is growing 3x times faster than iOS. Android is growing 3x times faster than iOS. http://www. androidng. com/android-vs-iphone-growth-rate-metrics http://www. androidng. com/android-vs-iphone-growth-rate-metrics For the customized headphone market, it is a blue ocean, a completely new industry. There’s only customized earphone market and we think that it won’t affect the customized headphone market too much. This is because customized earphones are the top hi-end internal speakers design for the senior users with a luxury price. Sound quality is the first priority and design is the second priority to these customers. For us, we put design is the first priority and sound quality is the second priority so that we can sell it relatively cheaper price than the customized earphone as we don’t need to use those expensive spare parts to boost up the sound quality. There’s a price gap2 between generalized earphone and the CM earphone. The cost for adding customized artwork on earphone is only around $300-$450 in Hong Kong, we assume for headphone is around $600, even if we charge above it, we are still much lower price than the customized earphone and can fill in the price gap in the market. Financial feasibility analysis 2 The maximum price of generalize earphone in the current market is around $4000 and the price of CM earphones is around $6000-$17000 The maximum price of generalize earphone in the current market is around $4000 and the price of CM earphones is around $6000-$17000 The finance of Beats is quite good. It has a steady growth every year. The first year revenue growth has reached 46. 2%. From 2009-2011, it has around $14MM revenue increase every year. After HTC has purchased 51% of shares of Beats, it has a greater financial support from HTC. Moreover, as the handfree industry is still rising and customized headphone is a n ew market, we believe that Beats will earn even more than before. Organizational feasibility analysis Beats is an international global brand but the whole company has only total 76 employees till 2011. In order to meet the quick expand of the company, Beats is keep recruiting new employees such as regional manager to increase the depth of the management team. In these few years, beats has corporated with the famous cable company ‘Monster’, acquired ‘MOG,Inc’ and joint venture with ‘Chrysler Group LLC’ to obtain different technologies and improve the products. Today, these technologies have become the most valuable asset of the company. In future, beats can reduce the cost of raw material to manufacture the handfree as our team idea is to combine the Iphone and Android handfree into one. For the customized headphone, we suggest beats to acquire a factory to help manufacturing the customized headphone like ‘Ultimate Ears’. This is because it can give confidence to the customers as the factory is under the brand Beats. Second, Beats can manage the factory directly using backward integration and reduce the power of supplier. Marketing Strategy The early marketing strategy of Beats is to corporate with some famous companies like ‘Monster’, ‘HP’, ‘HTC’. This is a win-win strategy; both brands have become more popular after cooperating together. Beats also use different celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Kobe Bryant to design the headphone and promote. In the future, Beats can keep using this strategy, participate with different celebrities in different. This can attract the young customers segment very effectively. STP Young customers with a seeking uniqueness, fashion characteristic and like listening to music would be our targeted customers. We position ourselves to give customers a symbolic, fashionable and high quality value. P strategy For price, our product will charge a bit higher than the similar competitors as we have a better brand loyalty and to give a hi-end impression to the customers. For the customized headphone would charge about HK$4000-$6000 to fill in the gap in the market. For product, the two new features would be a differentiation strategy. For place, our products will distribute to the consumer electronic shops in different places in the world. We would also open more private retail stores like the one in Soho, New York, selling and exhibiting all product collections. For promotion, we would remain using the celebrities to promote. Conclusion Earphone/headphone industry is very competitive. Our team believes that innovation is the key of success. In the future, we will still focus on the fashionable headphone market. With the above explanations, we believe the switching handfree and customized headphone will lead us to another level of success. Childhood Obesity Essay

Childhood Obesity Essay Childhood Obesity Essay Reflective Essay on Childhood Obesity PSYC 100 Tasha Mac University of Maryland Childhood obesity is a major concern for parents, teachers, and the medical community with differing philosophies and theories on causes and prevention. Inactivity, genetics, technology and parenting attitudes and beliefs are factors which contribute to childhood obesity. Peer pressure and social circles also create an epidemic of children overweight or obese. Intervention by parents, physicians and the educational system with support and nutrition with physical activity instruction can help create a culture of informed children. Childhood obesity is a major concern for parents, teachers and health care providers. Children will gain weight as they grow and develop. The problem presents when a child has extra pounds not needed for normal growth and development. Extra weight leads to obesity and particularly for a young child or adolescent can create serious medical conditions continuing into adulthood. Researching and determining particular and specific causes for childhood obesity can help in educating and motivating children and parents towards behavior changes to correct and prevent childhood obesity. Criteria for determining obesity in children rely on body mass index (BMI) in relation to overall weight, age, height and body structure. A BMI in children ages 6 to 19 years of age between the 85th and 94th percentiles is considered in the normal range, while anything over the 95th percentile is considered obese (Hampl and Summar, 2009). While there are many factors believed to be directly related to childhood obesity, the parents’ perception of weight and healthy lifestyles directly impact children. Not all unhealthy conscious parents will produce unhealthy children; the effect still remains on a child’s upbringing. Beyond a child’s upbringing, there are genetic factors which play a role in childhood obesity. Excess weight is typically caused by overeating and exercising too little. However, there are some hormonal and genetic causes contributing to childhood obesity. Cushing’s syndrome is one example of a medically predisposed reason for weight problems in children. This condition occurs when the body experiences high levels of the hormone cortisol for an extended period of time. Along with increased weight it can cause high blood pressure, bone loss and diabetes (Mayo Clinic, 2008). Physical activity and social interaction are also factors in childhood obesity. Luisa Franzini, et.al. (2009) through a research study found that neighborhood social factors as well as the physical environment affect childhood obesity and the importance of health policies and interventions to reduce the likelihood of childhood obesity. With the documented evidence of health related problems associated with obesity, it is important to enlist parents, educators and health care providers to address the problem of overweight children and the dynamics of how diet, activity and social interaction affect an individual. Sarah Barlow, et.al. (2002) conducted a study on the rise in childhood obesity and recognizes the vital component clinicians’ plays in the role of identifying the problem and assess the risk factors for that individual.

The job industry Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

The job industry - Essay Example I see myself as a business executive.   In order to fulfill this long term goal, I must not only be aware of current technology, but current trends.   The economy is of great concern to me.   Many business executives failed today’s society with their bad decisions.   I do not want to be a future business executive that fails society with bad decisions.   In order to become the best I can be, I must be taught how to be a great, not good, but great business executive.   I believe that the decision to attend Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations is a step in the right direction.   This is the best choice I could make, because Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations is the best place to learn how to be a great business executive.  Another interest of mine is being a part of something productive.   Loans, the stock market, and other business are not as important to me as business that creates an actual product.   This pr oduct could range from a technology or something practical like energy.   Being a useful part of society and creating a product that is needed encompasses what I want to achieve.   Without attending the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, I would not be able to achieve this dream. If I continue the path I am on without attending the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, I will not be able to become a business executive.   I will be stuck in a dead end job that pays minimum wage with no benefits.

Graphics Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Graphics - Essay Example people enrolled, or the amount of money spent/received) and finally I would provide the information that is to be communicated in its right kind by an appropriate main title which can be ‘list of majors enrolled in at XYZ university’ or ‘amount of revenues earned per discipline by XYZ college’. In this graphical illustration of data, I feel that the title is effective but the graphic chosen for its presentation is certainly less effective. The exact numbers which seemed to be the major information to be communicated is not provided. I would revise it with a format for presentation with clear mention of the exact numbers under each wing of the armed forces, as required. I would further use colors to highlight the title. In addition, I would place the title below the figure (p. 328). Furthermore, I would include a source of this information presented as it seems to be taken from either a governmental or any other published source. The pie chart seems to exhibit the breakdown of costs at Hillway Corporation. I would recommend changing the color scheme by using different saturations of the same color for each slice of the pie chart. I would further label each slice with the exact percentage of total cost that is being calculated for the expense head mentioned. I would further separate the slice for salaries to emphasize on the highest cost factor for Hillway Corporation. I would further place the largest slice on the top and move in the clockwise direction arranging the slices in descending order as per their relevant sizes. I would further recommend labeling the slices horizontally inside with percentage and name of the expense in the give data. 2D pie chart is recommended for clearer indication on the sizes of each slice as they relate to the breakdown of expenses or any other data provided. Although line charts are more useful in understanding the changes that are seen over time, the individual costs can also be illustrated of the PC components as
